Voluntary associations

Volunteer Association means a group of volunteers, operating in Italy, with an organizational structure, its own autonomy and identity and structured to operate continuously in favor of third parties, favoring a solidarity orientation for the destination of results ( law n. .269 / 1991 ).

As regards Rare Diseases , the Volunteer Associations present in Italy and Piedmont play a very important role for patients and families, contributing at the same time to facilitating the relationship of communication between health personnel and patients. Often they also play the essential role of support and dissemination of the information needed to begin the diagnostic, social and psychological path of people with rare diseases.

In this section of the site, in order to be consistent with the aims of the same, which propose a broader communication between the parties involved, we provide indications on the Voluntary Associations that deal exclusively or in part with Rare Diseases in Piedmont and in Italy. A prerequisite for inclusion in the Regional portal of rare diseases is the registration in the Provincial Register of Rare Diseases or the obtaining of the status of ONLUS at a national level .
